Meadowlands YMCA

East Rutherford, New Jersey
Diabetes Prevention Program: Helping adults at high risk for type 2 diabetes learn and maintain healthy habits.

YMCA of Snohomish County

Everett County, WA
Pursuing a partnership to bring official Special Olympic teams to their facilities. This initiative would help them to grow their adaptive aquatics program county-wide while also providing accessible facilities for all athletes.

The YMCA of Greater Birmingham

Birmingham, Alabama
Parkinson's Program Expansion: offering individuals with Parkinson's fitness and wellness methods proven to decrease depression and disease symptoms while also improving autonomy and mobility.

YMCA of Metro Denver

Denver, Colorado
Community as Medicine: Community based program focused on tackling social isolation and promoting holistic health through four key practices: Move, Nourish, Connect, and Be.

Gateway Region YMCA

St. Louis, Missouri
With an aim to address the lack of opportunities for youth with disabilities in athletics, Gateway is partnering with the St. Louis Cardinals on the construction of an Adaptive Sports Complex that will include multiple resources so kids and adults with disabilities can play sports.

Old Colony YMCA Middleboro

Middleboro, MA
Exploration Wellness: a 12-week program that was created to give members a holistic approach to achieving goals in a community based environment. It aims to create an inclusive journey to a more active lifestyle.

Franklin County YMCA

Greenfield, MA
Initiative 13: Through providing teen memberships to 13 year-olds, Franklin County YMCA seeks to create a safe and supportive environment for at risk youth.

Countryside YMCA

Lebanon, OH
Veterans Connect: Noticing a need for a program geared towards local veterans, Countryside YMCA designed a 12-week program with a purpose of giving veterans resources for fitness, nutrition, mental health support and community.

YMCA Two Rivers

Moline, IL
Aiming to implement partnerships with companies in the community to offer junior high youth engaging experiences centered around fitness, health, wellness, and a greater sense of belonging within the community.

Bloomsburg Area YMCA

Bloomsburg, PA
With their various Adaptive Programs, Bloomsburg Area YMCA wants to continue improving and implementing these accessible resources to provide for the community they serve.

VOTE FOR THE 2024 LIFE FITNESS COMMUNITY IMPACT AWARD WINNERS

The Community Impact Award spotlights future YMCA initiatives that will impact the fitness, health or wellness of its community. Each YMCA association is invited to submit ONE future initiative. Life Fitness will select 10 finalists and promote their initiatives. The Top 3 will be selected by popular vote and receive the Community Impact Award as well as $2,500 to support their future initiative.

Rules

Collaborate cross-functionally with your branches to align on ONE future initiative that will impact the fitness, health or wellness of your community. 
Fill out a brief submission form containing your future initiative. Description must be 250 to 500 words.  
The YMCA dedicated Life Fitness team and YMCA Advisory Board will thoroughly review the applications. 
The top 10 finalists will be announced where you vote on the winners.  
3 winners will be selected to win $2,500 and bragging rights.
