Owatonna High School’s New Weight Room is Built for Champions
Owatonna High School has had more than its share of athletic success. The Huskies have a trophy case filled with state championship hardware from a wide variety of sports, and the work athletes get done in the weight room is a big reason why.
The custom HD Elite iD racks don’t just look good, they increase the amount of work that the coaching staff at Owatonna can get done.
“The HD Elite iD equipment gives us the flexibility to incorporate a wide range of lifts at one station, along with having multiple athletes training at that station,” said Activities Director Marc Achterkirch. “This increases our efficiency and allows a large number of athletes to access the weight room on a daily and weekly basis.”
Premium HD Elite iD racks offer an amazing level of configurability that allows them to accommodate a multitude of different training philosophies and evolve with the growth of any athletic program. They’re built to thrive in the most demanding athletic environments and high-performance facilities.
“HD Elite iD allows us to make quick, efficient changes with J-hooks, safety bars, along with smaller increment changes based on student athletes’ sizes,” said Head Strength and Conditioning Coach Jerry Eggermont. “Having the capability of not only working on the inside of the rack but also on the outside allows me to be more creative with my programming.”
Owatonna’s weight room can see as many as 800 students in a week—athletes from a wide range of sports and with varying capabilities. The reception among all of them has been overwhelmingly positive.
“I can honestly say the interest and involvement from athletes and coaches has never been greater,” added Eggermont. “This is due in fact to the beautiful, world-class Hammer Strength equipment that draws kids to the room.”
