As one of the oldest and most iconic gyms in London, Nuffield Health City is the brand’s flagship club, following a large-scale gym floor upgrade delivered in partnership with Life Fitness.

Built within the railway arches of London’s famous Cannon Street, Nuffield Health City combines historic architectural features with the latest in fitness equipment innovation. Natural zoning within the facility creates five distinctive workout spaces, with each one delivering a unique training experience. Upstairs, members can be amongst the first in the UK to experience Symbio™, Life Fitness’s premium four-piece cardio line and the most innovative, immersive fitness equipment available.

Cardio, strength and functional training FITNESS FOR EVERYONE

With a busy, central London location and approximately 6000 members, Nuffield Health City caters to a wide-ranging member demographic. The main gym floor features a large cardio zone with Integrity+ equipment with Discover SE4 consoles, whilst strength equipment from Life Fitness’s Insignia Series selectorized line and Hammer Strength ranges are also featured.

The gym includes a standalone functional training space complete with HD Athletic Perimeter and equipment from the Hammer Strength Performance Trainer line, providing members with a dedicated area for individual and small group workouts, as well as HIIT. The Life Fitness SYNRGY180 Training System also doubles as a functional training rig and wall-adjacent accessory storage unit. A group cycling studio equipped with ICG® IC6 indoor cycles delivers classes under Nuffield Health’s unique NuCycle brand.

Dedication to excellence OFFICIAL HAMMER STRENGTH TRAINING CENTER

Nuffield Health City has earned the prestigious Official Hammer Strength Training Center accreditation, joining an elite group of clubs worldwide. This exclusive status is awarded to facilities that meet rigorous criteria, signifying a gym's dedication to providing a world-class strength training experience. At Nuffield Health City, members have access to a comprehensive range of Hammer Strength equipment, including six HD Elite iD half racks, free weights, and plate-loaded machines, each designed to push users to achieve their maximum potential with every workout.

As the flagship club for the brand, Nuffield Health City will help shape a new blueprint for the future of other Nuffield Health gyms across the UK. Through Facility Connect, Nuffield Health can access valuable insights into equipment usage patterns and exerciser behavior, helping to make smarter, data-driven decisions and provide further value to its members. The City club refurbishment project in partnership with Life Fitness has been a resounding success. The support of the entire Life Fitness team ensured we were supported throughout, from the design and planning phase through to delivery and launch. The team were fantastic at delivering a complex project, with detailed planning, communications and account management support. This support enabled us to continue to operate through the multi-phase disruption period and ensured no loss of momentum allowing us to have an extremely successful autumn trading period, with great member feedback to support this.
