European Health Clubs That Know the Formula for Success
Some health clubs exceed expectations and put all of the pieces together to become a place where exercisers can’t wait to be and don’t want to leave. A pair of eye-catching fitness facilities in Europe have managed to create exciting and inviting environments in slightly different ways.
Sportsgym Scandinavia in Ostersund, Sweden amped up its small group training offering to attract members. The club hosts seven group classes in its SYNRGY360 area and six surrounding its HD Athletic Rig each week. The classes are all booked.
“My clients always leave with a smile on their face,” said Jesper Jacobssen, a trainer at Sportsgym. “And they always want to come back next week.”
Sports World, Amsterdam
The appeal of Sports World in Amsterdam starts with the building it’s in. The brick structure dates back to 1889 and served as a dairy before its days as a health club. The fitness facility has outfitted the space with an array of equipment designed to appeal to a wide range of exercisers. The holistic approach to fitness includes more than 125 group exercise classes, nearly a dozen skilled personal trainers and even physical therapists to help with member aches and pains.
“It was very important to fulfill every need of every member,” explained Barry Schreurs, general manager of Sports World. “From beginner to advanced, from young to old, from cardio equipment to Hammer Strength. It’s our mission to help every member reach their own goals.”
