Transforming a 16-year Old Facility to Accommodate a Strength Program & PE Curriculum
Having a versatile fitness space to move hundreds of students through during a school day is becoming more relevant in high schools. Weight rooms are transforming and need the space and equipment to meet the needs of not only the student athletes, but all students engaged in PE classes.
Life Fitness and Hammer Strength worked in collaboration with York High School (Elmhurst, IL) from the pre-planning stages to completion of the renovated fitness center. We embraced York High School’s vision of creating a multipurpose room to house their athletic programs and PE curriculum. York’s goal is to have more students participating in a consistent strength program and give all students a facility they feel comfortable using.
Not only is this facility an integral part of building a successful athletic and strength program but it also provides the entire student body an opportunity to learn and be successful in a health club setting.
“Our overall experience working with Life Fitness and Hammer Strength was nothing more than a positive. After completion and reopening of our fitness facility, Life Fitness is still positively involved in the maintenance of the facility and is always willing to answer questions or concerns to keep this facility cutting edge within our high school area.”
